     A summer of 2007

This photo was taken once we traveled to the park "Las siete tazas" in Curicó, Maule. It's special to me because it was one of the last family trip we took with my maternal grandparents, my paternal grandmother, my uncles and cousins, since my paternal grandmother died in the middle of that year (2007). The photo was taken by my dad Victor and it shows (from left to right) my grandfather Luis, me Diego, my older brother Felipe, my mom Monica, my cousin Javier and my 2 grandmothers Deidamia and Amanda.The vehicle in the photo was my late grandfather Francisco's truck, in that vehicle we traveled from north to south and seeing it in the photo brings back a lot of memories. This photo also keeps in my memories my childhood and the times I shared with my grandparents no longer present, cousins who have grown up with me and landscapes with unforgettable experiences.

English 3, Post 4, 'A Meal or Food you really like'

Aubergine Lasagna

My favorite meal is eggplant lasagna. It's a way of preparing pasta, only this little variation replaces the meat and pasta (no kidding) with eggplant that is dehydrated with salt and added as slices. It has everything a regular lasagna has, i.e. cheese, tomato sauce, pasta, garlic and my favorite mushrooms. I personally like it because it is an option of a dish I like but for vegetarians and it is still tasty, plus it satisfies everyone very well.

The eggplant lasagna is rich in fiber that brings this vegetable, the same is contributed by mushrooms, a healthy substitute for the same pasta, also has many vitamins and minerals, also brings us calcium, for its high content of cheese.Although by so much cheese, can fill with grains and even bother a little, in the case of eating too much.

 Today I am also going to teach you how to prepare this dish. To assemble this lasagna we will need

1. 3 eggplants.
2. A can of tomato sauce.
3. 3 cloves of garlic.
4. 2 tablespoons of butter.
5. 350 grams of cheese, usually Parmesan cheese.
6. Salt.

Cut the eggplants and mushrooms lengthwise. We will take the eggplant slices and we will add a pinch of salt to them, this to be able to remove a little liquid and not to leave the lasagna all wet. Once the eggplants have been left to rest, dry them and heat them a little in a frying pan so that they are not so soft, they should be a little toasted.

Once the first part is finished, we will put the tomato sauce in a frying pan over medium heat. While it is heating, we chop the garlic and add it together with the butter to the sauce.

Once we have all the bases of our lasagna, we will proceed in a glass dish to assemble our lasagna, we start with a layer of eggplant, then the tomato sauce, then the mushrooms and finally the cheese slices, we repeat until we run out of ingredients or when there is no more space in the tray. 

Finally, we introduce the tray in the preheated oven at 180ºC and leave it for 15 minutes. After the time, let it cool a little and it is ready to serve.

My favorite piece of technology

My favorite piece of technology is clothing. In all its colors, sizes, styles and environments. Good pockets always come in handy so you don't throw away that chocolate wrapper from the market, a t-shirt for hot days or a coat for blizzards. Clothing has been a necessity for many years. I've been wearing them for as long as i can remember and you probably have too.

 

Clothes serve many purposes, not just to keep warm and reduce accidents, but as a way to express ourselves, to show our confidence and personality. It is another way to show art, many designers mix architecture, symbolism and beauty on their runways, to create something that not everyone understands, an art in sewing, embroidery and print, with themes and stories. Personally, when I was a child I didn't give it much importance, I was indifferent, as I only thought it served to keep modesty and protect us, it was like those infants who undress because they don't like to wear clothes, to be free and not need something over their body. Now I understand that it is more significant than one thinks.

 And I could say that yes, I like clothes, but not as an obsession, but as a way to feel comfortable showing yourself to others in a more intimate way, to show yourself when you feel, whether we are sad or happy, more shy or shameless. And I could say many other reasons why I like it, but that would be stretching it too far. 

 

In my opinion, I believe that life would not be as we know it today. Without its existence survival, culture, history and certainly morals would be different, as things like being ashamed of our body and trying to hide parts of it, would not be a possibility, we would see scars, bulges and intimate parts just like that, people would not care or maybe they would, we can't confirm that for sure. All in all, clothes are important to our current way of thinking, the way we express ourselves to others and obviously to make you look good to that special person, so give it just do it, wear it not just thinking it's necessary.

¿Why did I choose my major?

Hello today I will share with you, ¿Why did I choose my major?

When I was a kid, my thoughts weren't exactly focused on how jobs work, I just knew that there were people who helped others with a vocation or were dedicated to doing something that they would like. However, together with my brother, we played at being paleontologists or firefighters. One day I had to read a book for school called "Franny k. Stein", where there was a girl who did experiments, from there I was intrigued by chemistry and the things it can do.
 
More today, when I had to decide which majors to study, it was clear to me that I liked everything related to the chemical sciences, so my options included biochemistry, metallurgical engineering and pharmaceuticals.

Once the PTU test results came in, I had to decide which major to go to, so I thought and wondered, What do I want besides studying science?, Maybe help people?, Earn good money?, Maybe a good job field? And everything that was included in my questions pointed to the pharmacy, so I decided. I went to that career.

Currently, now that I am in college, I feel the difference with high school, where both the dynamics and the classes are completely different. I still do not get used to the change, but until now I have felt comfortable surrounded virtually by classmates and some friends, together we created a Discord to play and study together. Still no one has entered a crisis so that is fine, we support each other. I hope that this semester continues well and that we can start face-to-face classes soon.
